The Oregon Students Foundation student board is comprised of students from across Oregon private and public schools.
Board Structure
The Oregon Students Foundation is a donor-advised fund within the Oregon Community Foundation. The Oregon Community Foundation is over 50 years old and has donated more than 2.0 billion dollars to better Oregonians’ lives. Because the members of the Student Board are mostly minors the Oregon Students Foundation also has an advisory board. The advisory board brings together adults who are passionate about philanthropy and have expertise in foundations. While the Student Board makes and approves all grants the Oregon Community Foundation and Advisory Board ensure that everything goes smoothly.
Board Member Roles
Time
The student board meets once per month for one hour on Zoom. If you would like to be a board member you should be committed to attending at least 75 percent of all meetings. In addition to regular meetings, board members are expected to come to meetings prepared.
Responsibilities
Students on the board review and approve all grants that are submitted. A majority vote will approve the grants. The board works to closely follow the Oregon Students Foundation’s mission vision and values. All board members are expected to create an inclusive environment for everyone.
